Are you passionate about creating positive workplace relationships and driving excellence in employee relations? We’re seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our Operations team in Austria.

As Employee Relations Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping Amazon’s workplace culture and supporting our mission to be both the world’s most customer-centric and employee-centric company. You’ll have the opportunity to drive meaningful change and help build the future of work at Amazon.

The minimum basic salary according to the applicable collective bargaining agreement is 52,152€. Depending on experience and qualifications, there is a willingness to overpay. In addition, we offer sign-on bonuses and stock options as well as discounts on products.

Key job responsibilities

Mitarbeiterengagement steht im Mittelpunkt all unserer Aktivitäten. In dieser Position stellen Sie sicher, dass faire, einheitliche und transparente Prozesse in den Mitarbeiterbeziehungen an allen unseren Standorten angewendet werden, wobei die Rechte unserer Mitarbeiter zur Gründung und zum Beitritt zu Betriebsräten respektiert und unterstützt werden. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Führungsteams bieten Sie strategische Beratung zu Programmen und Initiativen im Bereich Mitarbeiterbeziehungen, fördern positive Arbeitsbeziehungen und beraten in gewerkschaftlichen Angelegenheiten. Die Rolle beinhaltet die Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Interessengruppen, um positive Ergebnisse in den Arbeitsbeziehungen zu erzielen und ein engagiertes Arbeitsumfeld zu schaffen.

Geschäftsbereich: Operations

Operations steht im Zentrum des Amazon-Kundenerlebnisses. Jede unserer Handlungen wird im Namen unserer Kunden ausgeführt, da wir ihre Erwartungen erfüllen und oft übertreffen wollen. Die Operations-Teams in unseren Logistikzentren sind für die Verwaltung eines umfangreichen und schnelllebigen Bestands verantwortlich. Von der Warenannahme im Logistikzentrum über die Einlagerung, das Kommissionieren und Verpacken bis hin zum Versand an unsere Kunden arbeiten sie mit großem Einsatz daran, dass unsere Kunden das bekommen, was sie wollen, und zwar dann, wenn sie es wollen.

Die Position erfordert ca. 30-40% Reisetätigkeit innerhalb Österreichs zur Unterstützung mehrerer Operations-Standorte.

In this role, you’ll ensure fair, consistent, and transparent employee relations processes are applied across our sites, while respecting and supporting our employees’ rights to establish and join works councils. Working closely with senior leadership teams, you’ll provide strategic guidance on employee relations programs and initiatives, foster positive workplace relationships, and offer expert counsel on trade union matters. The role involves partnering with various stakeholders to drive positive labor relations outcomes and create an engaging work environment.

Business Area: Operations

Operations is at the heart of the Amazon customer experience. Each action we undertake is completed on behalf of our customers because meeting and often exceeding their expectations. The Operations teams in our fulfillment centers are responsible for managing a vast range of fast-moving inventory. From receiving into the fulfillment center to stowing, picking, packing and shipping to our customers, they work very hard to ensure that our customers receive what they want, when they want it.

Position requires approximately 30-40% travel within Austria to support multiple operations sites.

A day in the life

Der Arbeitsalltag eines ER Managers ist stets abwechslungsreich. An einem Tag sind Sie vor Ort und unterstützen das lokale Führungsteam, sei es während einer Veränderungsphase, während Betriebsratswahlen, bei laufenden gewerkschaftlichen

Aktivitäten oder anderen Anlässen. Am nächsten Tag arbeiten Sie an Projekten, die für alle Standorte Ihres Geschäftsbereichs relevant sind und kooperieren mit Kollegen des EU-ER-Teams, die Ihren Geschäftsbereich in anderen Ländern betreuen. Sie werden Teil eines Teams sein, in dem die Arbeit Spaß macht, und tragen Ihren Teil dazu bei, unsere Teamziele zu erreichen und an österreichweiten Projekten zu arbeiten, die alle Geschäftsbereiche umfassen.

The day-to-day working life of an ER Manager will be ever changing. One day, you will be on-site supporting the local Leadership Team, may it be during a period of change, a period of works council elections, while trade union activities are ongoing or other. The next day, you will be supporting projects relevant for all sites of the business line(s) you are supporting and work with colleagues from the EU ER Team which support your line of business in other countries. You will be embedded in a fun-to-work with team and as such also get your share in reaching our team goals and work on Austria-wide projects covering all lines of business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Erfahrung im Personalwesen/Employee Relations in Österreich mit Betriebsräten und/oder Gewerkschaften
• Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse (CEFR C2)
• Nachgewiesene Erfahrung im Management komplexer Stakeholder-Beziehungen auf allen Ebenen
• Experience in HR/ER experience in Austria with work councils and/or unions
• Fluent in German and English (CEFR C2)
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships at all levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Progressiver, praktischer Ansatz mit nachgewiesenem Erfolg in schnelllebigen, kundenorientierten Umgebungen
• Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten und Problemlösungskompetenz, einschließlich Erfahrung in der Analyse von HR-Kennzahlen zur Entwicklung praktischer Lösungen
• Juristischer Abschluss und/oder MBA von Vorteil
• Erfahrung in Operations oder Produktionsumgebungen mit hohem Volumen
• Ausgeprägte Fähigkeiten im Change Management, in der Kommunikation, Verhandlungsführung und Einflussnahme
• Nachgewiesene emotionale Intelligenz und bewährte Fähigkeit im Umgang mit sensiblen Situationen
• Erfahrung mit Betriebsräten in Deutschland von Vorteil
• Gute Kenntnisse der MS Office-Tools (Outlook, Excel) und HR-Informationssysteme (z.B. PeopleSoft)
• Progressive, hands-on approach with proven success in fast-paced, customer-focused environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience analyzing HR metrics to develop actionable solutions
• Law degree and/or MBA preferred
• Experience in high-volume operations or manufacturing environments
• Strong change management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and proven ability to handle sensitive situations
• Experience with works councils in Germany would be advantageous
• Good understanding of MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel) and HR information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
