Duties and Responsibilities
Under these terms of reference, the individual contractor shall support the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies through the following tasks: – Assist in organizing the programmes of side events and exhibitions to be held at the margins of the CND, CCPCJ and the Crime Congress; – Support the logistical arrangements for related events, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders; – Contribute to developing communication products and updating websites related to the meetings.
Qualifications/special skills
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in managing or supporting work related to intergovernmental meetings, public information, public relations, or public administration is required; Experience in organizing large programmes of side events and exhibitions in the framework of UN intergovernmental meetings is desirable; Good knowledge of standard software applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams) is desirable; Strong communication skills in a multicultural context are required; Experience within the UN system or similar international organizations is desirable; Good interpersonal skills and a high degree of independent judgment and initiative are/is desirable; Excellent team-working skills are required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (oral and written) is required; Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage.
